In the FEI Eventing European Championships for Young Riders and Juniors, held this year in Strzegom, the British and French teams have taken the lead after a two-day dressage trial.
The team from Great Britain leads in the young rider category with a collective result of 81.7: Darcy Zander and My Eastwood Brightside, Isabelle Cook and Mexican Law, and the leader in the individual classification Jasmine Underwood with Indian Girl G - 23.6. The position of vice-leaders now belongs to Germany - 83.5, and third place to the French - 85.
French rider Lisa Gualtieri with A D’Aunis lies in second individually with 25,1, before Germany’s Emely Kurbel with Entertain You – 26,6.
The Polish team is currently placed 6th – 96,2. The best dressage score of the home nation belongs to Zuzanna Borkowska with Gracja – 30,9, which places them 22nd in the individual classification.
In the junior category the leading score is for the French: Clement Tonon and Eboli, Mae Rinaldi and Kirwan, Mereana Fischer and Vet'hiver, Rachel Weiler and Riviero - 82.9. The latter was the best in the team and lies in second place individually - 25.1. The individual leader is Germany’s Sofie Schnier with Rieemaars Finnegan - 23.6, and the third rider is Finland’s Mikko Moisala riding Cracks Cajsa - 25.2.
The Irish lie in second as a team, with 83.7, and Germany’s third with 90.3.
With a score of 96.2, the home nation placed sixth in a field of 13 teams. The best performance in the team belongs to Zuzanna Spolowicz with the Polish-bred Bankier. With a baggage of 31.4 penalty points, the pair is currently 21st in the individual classification.
Tomorrow the young competitors will face each other in the cross-country trial.
